First thing this morning we saw some of the sights of Pulin (the German name). This is the small city where we're staying, at the Community Centre run by Don Miller's ministry. Like most cities/towns in Ukraine, there's still a statue of Lenin, and a monument of some sort commemorating the soldiers who died in WW2. In Pulin there was also a Russian tank that we got Liz to climb on top of for pictures. We then visited two operating farms. One was in a sorry state, on the site of a former collective farm, the other is considered a model farm in Ukraine. It's run by a pastor (all pastors here have other jobs). It had a very large, beautiful, flower garden in a park like setting. Cathy loved the cows. Next on the list was Nowin (see pic) village of the Kelm family. There wasn't much there. We talked to a 69 year old man, but he was too young to remember anything of the the German presence there. Nevertheless, it was interesting to be in the village that Grandpa Bartz had spoken of. After a couple of stops in other nearby villages of significance to Don Miller's family, we then visited one of the addiction recovery centres run by Don's ministry and lunch there. Then it was back to Zhytomyr, where we spent the rest of the day sightseeing at various places of interest. Alex, our tour guide, has been exceptional. Finally, we had dinner at our best restaurant yet (best washroom too!) We had veal, apparently imported from Argentina, and barbecued over coals from a wood fire. Apart from the absence of any vegetables (other than tomatoes as an appetizer) it was a very nice dinner. This is our second last day and while this has been a great trip, I'm definitely looking forward to going home.

Brandy You commented on the Kelm family village. Do you have any other details? I am looking for Kelm family. Thanks Brandy
