Because it was Sunday and a Spanish holiday in Mallorca, most of the shops were closed, so things were very quiet as we wandered through the old town with it's narrow little streets and alleys. We visited the main Cathedral, started in 1295 according to our cab driver. Mass was being held just as we were there so we stayed to listen to the pipe organ music, watch the priests do their incense thing, etc. Both the old town and the more modern commercial district reminded me of Mexico, because of the Spanish, but with one big difference. It's incredibly clean! I'm sure that's why the Germans love it as a holiday destination. In the afternoon we spent time at a beach, where of course many of the women (Germans no doubt) were topless. Jim and I didn't know where to look to avoid them! Weather was pleasant -- not too hot and humid -- but we almost regretted our decision to walk about 6 km back to the ship. Especially since I somehow managed to pick up a bad cold and wasn't feeling too well. I was so tired I went to bed right after dinner.
