Another spectacular day in paradise.
Rome has been so interesting....the historical sites at this stage.......nothing compares.
Has a feeling like going back in time a touch .
Sorry to be leaving Rome after such a short stay, would have loved another day to wander and soak up the atmosphere......check out the shops
We found the Romans so very helpful and friendly, even the driver who took us to the airport escorted us downstairs to the Princess meeting place.....he didnt have to do that, a sweetheart!

They are very cheeky drivers, darting everywhere in their Vespers and small cars. Boy are they great at parking cars.....10 cms between cars.....have no idea how they get the cars out of the spaces......at times they even park at right angles if there is not enough room!
On the bus to the port, ready to meet our next group of very best friends.....the cruisers.
Can see the sea in the distance.....been a while since we smelt the salt air!
Well that went well, very smooth check-in.....on board and exploring at 1300hrs. Suite very swish.....next door neighbours are from Brisbane.
Explored some of the ship.....Crown Princess.....very similar to Sun Princess only bigger.....
Had evacuation drill, practiced putting on our life vests.....they assured us there are lifeboats for all!
Last cruise apparently they had an epidemic of Norovirus ( severe gastro), so sanitisation parranoia in place which is a good thing....no self service in restaurants etc.
Smooth sailing so far on the beautiful Mediterranean Sea....didn't get to see the 'Costa Concordia', just as well....we have an English captain luckily!
Lovely dinner.....sat with 6 Americans....chose to do 'anytime dining' this cruise......this means that you can dine anytime and you get to sit with different people each night, or alone if you choose.
Looking forward to a couple of days at sea....

Nice people the Romans. Our taxi driver stood guard at the ATM for me (he only took cash!), then he took us all the way to meet our cruise connection at the airport.....naturally I tipped him.

On the shop looking forward to a couple of days rest....think it is catching up on us.
