Leg 8 race 13 day 4 Didn't sleep very well went through a storm and we're heading into the wind so hitting waves hard. Leg 8 : race 13; day 3 Woke at 6.39 on deck for 7am it was sunny. During the night we had taken down the code 2 put up the 1 then taken that down now as we had gone through a wind hole. All positions changed we had gone to bed in 3rd place then when we went on deck we were 2nd. It was really close but lovely seeing 10 boats behind us. Leg 8; race 13 day 2 Was woken late at 6.45 had to be on deck for 7 made it on time. The Code 2 spinnaker was up we were around 8th but all the boats near to each other. We managed to overtake ichorcoal Pouring with rain again so got soaked and it's cold! Have a base layer on mid layer and foulies but still wet. Busy trimming the kite to try and gain more speed. Leg 8 : race 13: day 1 Up at 8.30 showered packed and took bags to the boat. Met Lucie Colin Mel and Sean for breakfast then on the boat for 11. Had photos taken then slipped our lines at 1 for a parade of sail. It was lovely and sunny with big crowds to see us off. We motored out to the race start. I had a rest on my bunk as my shift will be 7-11pm and 7-11am each day. Feeling nervous always do at race starts. I hope the North Sea isn't too rough ! Race start...

Had stayed over at Sophie's so she dropped us home at 12. Had something to eat then a couple of Guinness watching a live band. Went to crew briefing meeting to listen about the next race : met Lucie Sean and others for drinks then a curry. Watched the parade of sail and fireworks. Lovely evening.
