We are now back at home for a short respite and then are off again tomorrow to Bangkok! We are both very excited and looking forward to flying Five Star for the first time with Qatar!! Egypt was a bit of an eye-opener. It was really amazing to see the Pyramids of Giza, Luxor Temple, Tutankhamen's mask and tomb, the Valley of the Kings and Karnak Temple. However, I don't think we were quite prepared for all the hassle, dirt and poverty. The base of the Pyramids are blanketed with litter and cigarette butts. It's very disappointing to see how little care is taken to preserve these great monuments for the future...I very much doubt they'll survive another 1000 years, let alone 4000-5000... Anyway, we are certainly beginning to experience and learn things about the world - which is, of course, the purpose of our trip!!! So Bangkok, here we come!!!
