Devonport Tasmania. Fairly cool this morning and overcast cleared and warm by noon. The camping ground is quite nice in the daylight. Went to the markets at Ulverstone did our vegie shopping and saw the biggest dog ever. We called in at the Don River Railway (museum) just as the train was leaving for Cole Bay. The carriage we were in was about 1936 vintage. We went back to the caravan for lunch and a rest then went for an afternoon walk along the water, large stones no sand very pretty.
Went penguin watching at night great fun we saw about 12 penguins and some chicks. They are molting at the moment so are very fat because they have to eat up big, as they stay in their burrows for 2 weeks without eating. One of the volunteers showed us a stuffed penguin and was surprised how soft their feathers are. We also saw some bio fluorescent light out on the ocean a lovely green .Very cool.
