Spent the night lying awake in our hotel. Luckily it was a short night. Up at 3.40am to catch shuttle to KL airport and 7.05am flight to Cambodia. Jayne and Jeff were also in the huge queue so met up at Starbucks for catch up before they head up to Myanmar for a week, Singapore for a couple of nights and home to Melbourne for the month.
The first impression of Cambodia is the huge number of paddocks lying under water for rice paddies. No wonder there are issues with mossies. Also a huge haze in the sky. Hmm. Very much like the sky over Singapore last month. :(
Off to find our hotel, breakfast and then out on a tuk tuk to the Russian market. Really helpful that the taxi driver could exchange one vehicle for another! Rather dusty driving around the streets but cool fun. Can't even begin to describe the traffic. As our driver said, it is like fish swimming. Everyone just weaves in and out. Gulp. The treasures were endless so bought a few bits and bobs and then home to cool down and have a swim. Great pool on the 3rd story that overlooks the street. Walked around the block to find the Mekong River but ended up at lunch and clothes shopping. Tapas, couscous, beef, salad, cocktails. Beautiful. Home and Cheyenne has done her skipping and exercises. A good day was had by all.
