We're all tired, but truthfully, I hate that the trip has come to an end. Today is our last touring day. I was happy and then sad, but am looking forward to tomorrow, as a day at sea.
We got up and all headed to breakfast. The shipped pulled into port at 8 A.M. and we were off. The port had millions of shoppes and was actually a labirinth that we had to make our way through to get out and find the tour office. We asked folks as we were walking through and a lot seemed to know where the Native Choice Tour office was.
As we exited the shopping area, we were told that the tour office was about 4 blocks down.
When we arrived at the office, there were folks mulling around and the lady at the desk, who was very nice, asked me to step up. After signing in, taking a quick bathroom break, we were loaded onto the waiting tour bus. We were taking the Chacchoben Extreme tour. It's good to get on last, as the ladies had the front row. Unfortunately, Clarke landed in the back.
Errick was our tour guide and thank goodness for an air conditioned, nice bus, with shocks. There were about 20 of us on the bus.
After a long ride, we arrived at the Chacchoben ruins. Errick provided the guided tour at the ruins and bottled water. Everyone walked around, took lots of pictures at the Kohunlich ruins and learned a vast amount of history from Errick.
As we walked, Errick gave us pleanty of time to explore and take pictures. We were even entertained by a few monkeys, overhead. We had a few off and on showers, but nothing heavy.
Oh my goodness, climbing the huge ledeges was quite a task.
After walking around, we loaded up the bus and headed over to Bacalar Lagoon Resort for swimming and kayaking at the Seven Color Lagoon, lunch and drinks. This was a very long drive. I looked at Sabrina and Errick, they both were knocked out. Hope was leaning on my shoulder, asleep.
We finally arrived at the Bacalar Lagoon Resort. It was really nice. It's Surrounded by thousands of acres of tropical forest lies the ultimate getaway for those seeking adventure, tranquility, comfort and hospitality in a truly natural setting.
This fresh water lagoon, the second largest in Mexico, reflects all the shades of turquoise and blue as it flows toward the Caribbean Sea.
Clark and I contemplated on getting in the water, but it was a bit chilly. After a few moments, the lunch buffet was ready. It was setup really nice and looked very clean. They had 2 lines setup, to make sure there wasn't a backup of tourists.
They had warm tortillas and all the toppings anyone would want, including a nice salad.
I sat down to eat and Errick came by to ask if I wanted him to bring me a drink. I told him, that I'd get up and get one later.
We ate and watched folks kayaking and swimming, then another group of tourists showed up, a really big group.
After eating, I did order a Pina Colada, but it seemed to have no alcohol in it, so I ordered a soda. We took a few photos, talked and waited until we were called to head back.
Errick had the driver to drop us off right at the entrance to the port shoppes. Clark went on and Hope, Sabrina and I did some shopping, until about 3 P.M. or so and headed on back to the ship.
Farewell Mexico!
