We had booked into a bungalow on a complex, as the offers were great. When we arrived on Koh Lanta our mini bus driver took us too a resort called Pavilion which was the wrong resort we told him time and time again Papillon. He wouldn't listen and he wouldn't read our booking,instead he just got more and more annoyed. Finally a local girl told him it was 5 mins back down the road. After a lot of huffing he set off again in search of our accommodation. I think I saw my life flash before my eyes in that 5 minutes, he put his foot down on the accelerator to make up for the lost time however in doing so he was driving like a mad man. He over took on a bend and nearly hit a moped on the other side of the road! He slammed on the brakes and everyone in the mini bus reacted in the same way, he was being completely irresponsible! We were glad to get out at our hotel!! The resort looked nice, DVD players in the room, this was luxury!!
The weather for the first two days was rubbish, mostly rain! We managed a little bit of walking around the town however the rain soon stopped us. We decided to make the most of the DVD player and have a chilled day watching films. On our last day the weather cleared up and we hired a moped, heading out for a trip around the island. Luckily the rain held off and we had a very pleasant day. Ed and I had a nice walk up to an old light house in a nature reserve and along a long stretch of sandy beach. We soon discovered that it was home to a few of those naughty monkeys.
