Hello from the Big T. Just got back from Doi Inthanon National Park..... again..... an experience! where should we start? Trekking...... 3 days..... 24kilometers......... 2000metres to the highest point of thailand. slopes we didnt think people were able to walk. the "cold shower" was actually a waterfall (false advertising we think?) - with worms that can eat your bladder! nice! toilet a 3 man job.... could not go alone! Blair Witch springs to mind. no electricity so romantic candlelight dinners! highlight.... to enable us to get our moonshine (home made whiskey/white spirit) we had to agree to buying a pig.... killing it..... skinning it.... BBQing it!!!! (and eventually attempting to eat it) nice! day 2..... learnt the thai lingo in a tribe village in the mountains. "no woman no cry... no whiskey no elephant!" "no money no honey" "luvly jubly" and they thought that we were the entertaining ones! note..... "skinny dog" from pics. he ate the pig. we didnt. day 3.... ELEPHANTS!!!!! we fed and rode them through the forest. with hills steeper than the ones we walked (we hadnt thought this possible!) Laura and Hayley rode the neck.... Jade's was content with whipping her feet with its ears. new best buys.... a whole live pig.... 6 pound bottle of whiskey 70p Birkenstocks 2.60 (maybe fake???!!) Going to the golden triangle tomorrow (Thailand/Burma/Laos) and to the "long necks" (not actually llamas or giraffes but tribes) then on to Laos by the end of the week. Thanks for the messages everyone, miss you all Alora, Jo and heidi/harry/hairy (who are now morphing into one person. note the pictures.... headscarves, birkenstocks, belts...)
