Hi everyone,

Well we have made it to Cairns just! Had a lovely send off last night, the chef came in expecially and cooked us a bbq on the new char grill bbq and we all got to have a last final meal together (bar the new girls, as they had to work) together. Paul was very complimentary about our wor, how we had played our part in the finishing of the project and how we would both be missed. Apparently we are part of only a small number of backpackers who have actually managed to stay the 6 weeks without Paul sending you to the bus! Needless to say a few to many drinks were drunk and we practically ended up crawling to the bus at 3.30 am! It was a lovely end to another oz chapter and we will miss Miles, for a while anyway!

So we managed to sleep most of the way back to Brisbane. Pulled into Brissy about 9 am in the morning, then we had to get the train to the airport. Got held up at the train station because had to check the whole building after the fire alarms had gone off. Then to make matters worse our flight was delayed by 2 hours. We were finally in the air by 1pm, which ment we landed in Cairns at 3pm.

From the small part of Cairns we have seen we are both surprised how green it is. The weather is sunny and a perfect temperature. Hopefully the rain will hold off, the weather forecast is threating a few showers over the next few days. Going to go into town now and grab some food and then have a much needed early night, ready for our early start tomorrow morning - Cape Trib here we come.
