So Saturday night Pete cooked for us and then we sat outside around the fire. He's a bit of an astronomer so showed us Saturn through his telescope. Was v impressive! We had sparklers, a few beers then went to bed. We were going to get up early to watch the sunrise, but failed. After a slight lie in we had brekkie outside which included avocado and bacon, yummy. We then went to Dreamworld which is a big theme park with loads of rides and animals. We even went on the tea cups and flying dogs with Maddy (Petes 5 year old daughter). After an exciting day we went back to Petes for pizza and pancakes then he took us to our hostel in surfers paradise. Thanx so much Pete for letting us stay! We were v impressed with the room in the hostel, it was en suite and had a balcony. We met our roomie Wendy then went to bed.

Monday morning we went to check out surfers paradise. There was a mini theme park where we went on a very scary ride called the Vomatron. We screamed the whole way round. We also waited about 30 mins for a girl to bungee jump, she finally got pushed off. Due to Petes fantastic cooking the day before we decided to cook a proper meal, curry!!!! We jumped in the jacuzzi then got ready to go out. Drank some goon and played some games then hit the town. Went to a club called Sin City where we met a Mr Bean look a like. We also met two brothers from Liverpool, Jimmy and Matty. After lots of drinks and a lot of dancing we got pizza and went home.

Tuesday morning we went to the beach with our Liverpool friends, stuck it for about an hour but then had to leave because we were freezing and absolutely covered in sand. It was even in our ears. We went to a park to sunbathe instead but didnt last there long either because Rachel got bitten! We got in the jacuzzi again and saw two new roomies on our balcony. We went to the room to meet them, they were called Conor and Grant and from America. We got ready then played some drinking game with the roomies, sooooo funny. Grant had a forfeit to shout 'i love willys' from the balcony. He actually screamed it, was soooooo loud! We headed out for our cheap night. It was ladies night at Sin City which meant free entry and free drinks all night (Manchester needs to get one of these). Was amazing! Had pizza went back to the hostel then decided to find a postbox at 4 in the morning.

Wednesday we checked out early, we felt so rough. Then got the bus to Brisbane and saw the New South Wales rugby team walking down the street, fit!!! We checked into our new hostel then went to get some food. Decided it was probably best to have a napthen headed out to watch Queensland vs New South Wales rugby match at a bar right near the stadium. The atmosphere was amazing! After a couple of drinks we headed home for bed.

Thursday - had a lie in which was great, then decided to explore Brisbane city, we got our map and started walking. After a while we stopped for an ice-cream and sat in a park. We carried on walking a bit more then headed home to get ready for a night out. We met some new roomies two American guys, Blaine and Mike. After drinking the usual goon we headed to the bar downstairs and sat with the Americans. We persuaded them to come to Fortitude Valley which is where all the clubs are. Headed into the first one which was dead then tried to get in another one, but yet again they turned Hayley away for having open toe shoes on (what do they expect when you are backpacking). Anyway we all went back to the hostel so hayley could put her flat boots on (totally ruined the outfit!!!!!!) then returned to the club, had a brill night.

Today we hired bikes out from the hostel, after a wobbly start and looking like two planks with our helmets on we biked around Brisbane a couple of hours. sure we will be aching tomoz. Were heading out to nandos for tea tonight (so excited) then just for a quiet few drinks. Thats the plan anyway!
