Nha Trang Vietnam
Not spent too long here, barely 2 days in fact. I **** it here though and would have spent longer if it wasn't for our time budget and the fact everything is triple the price due to the god damn Tet Holidays! Food is nice and Cheap. Beach is beautiful and long and curves round so you can see the whole beach. WE had a lot of fun in the waves. The rip was strong and so was the break in the waves. They were pretty big and knocked you right off your feet. The locals were all there as usuall fully clothed in Jeans, jumpers and bike helmets. In fact a little girl was kinda drowning in the waves and 2 guys went and dragged here out. She was Vietnamese I think. There is not as much hassle from begging or selling as Cambodia so far. WE had a nice hotel room the firs night for $10 expensive but nice. But the people in the room next to us decided to wake us up at 6.30am. All locals in South East Aisa wake up early and have 0 respect for other sleeping or the noise levels weather it be in the morning or late at night.Shouting laughing, screaming, playing I just cant believe how inconsiderate they can be, we are kind of used to it now though so I don't get that burning rage to march out of there and tell them to shut up like I used to I can tollerate it a lot more! The next hotel was nice too Ha Lin Guest house. I manged to barter her down to $6 much to the surprise of all the other backpackers we met that night not being able to find anything under $30! The room was lovely and we were happy to see American Idol on the box (how sad are we!). We had a snooze and decide to have a few drinks that night. We started in Krazy Kims Bar. Krazy Kim has a Hands Off Kids campaign and I've heard that she has been jailed 3 times for reporting abuse. The Vietnamese government kinda want the phedo's to come into the country as they bring in money and tourism! Nha Trang is the place to go apparently and they welcome it! Sick . WE played a few rounds of pool with some OZ and Sweedish folk and met a typical London Geezer called John with a gold tooth. WE were pretty drunk already as we'd done in ½ bottle of vodka in whilst watching Amerian Idol in our hotel. I didn thit a ball in about 6 shots! We all got together and headed to the Sailing Club on the beach. My Grandad actually recommened it to me and it was heaving with loud music, live acts and people dancing. It was 4 quid admission! So we Me and Mike snook round the beach side I'm not bloody paying 4 quid to got a bar on beach in Vietnam! WE spoke to a few locals and travellers and headed home after dancing til 2 in the morning. Quite a good effort by our standards.l On the way back I needed food and I begged Mike to stop at a noodle thing on a street corner. Lots of other drunken travellers joined me for drunken noodle soup and we chatted for ½ hour before heading back to our hotel. Mike climbed over a few family members before heading up the stairs of their house only to be dragged back down as he was not in the hotel but someones house! We showed the guy the key and he pointed next door. All the shutters were down and we had to wake the hotel owner up, sorry! And we then stumbled into bed very drunk.
The next day we were hungover and very giddy and being very silly with each other. We spent hours looking for accommodation but couldn't find anywhere, so in the end our previous hotel let us sleep on the floor in this built up box room. She put a mattress on the floor and charged us 4 quid. She said the cleaner sleeps in there sometimes! Lovely, it was okay actually but again all the Vietnamese holiday makes woke us up when they came in at 1.00 in the morning and were chatting, laughing and singing outside our room. Then they all woke us up at 6.30am with the whole family having a debate outside our god damn room! Repsect anyone? We have basically spent 90% of our time searching for accommodation in Vietnam and not really exploring the country everyhere is just full. Off to a remote beach today, nothing booked again and I hope we find somewhere!
