Okay so we are in the Gold Coast also known as Surfers Paradise. I really like this place. All the people from oz come here to holiday, its like a big holiday resort but quite laid back and lots of things to do, them parks, water parks, arcades, shopping malls, adrenalin parks etc. We went to the Corumbian Sanctuary yesterday, we got there at 8am as we always wake up at 6.30am and make breakfast in our van. It was $40 each to get in so quite expensive. Me and mike had our picture taken with a cute baby koala, we fed the kangeroos and saw the crocks and all the other animals which was good. We went to all the talks which was full of kids, how noisy are they? Defo reminder not to have kids sooo anoying! We went on a big pubcrawl last night around town and met a few people. Went back to a couples apartment which was a snazzy apt on a high rise building. The pub crawl started at 5.00pm so we were in bed in our van by 12.30 totally smashed! This is the first time me and mike have got drunk in Oz and stayed up past 9.00pm! It must be so different travelling as a couple to being single as all they do is drink and we get up at 6.00am every morning and find random picnic benches all over oz to make dinner and lunch! We cooked spag boll today and yesterday which was gorgeous! Still doing our runs down the beach on the mornings we dont have things planned. Might to go the water and theme park tomorrow. They have a sea world here and a wet and wild like Florida. The temp here is 23 degrees but is forcast to rain this week. There is a high wind which has been present for about 3 weeks aswell, but its all good. The wind blew the hob off the picnic bench and I went to grab it instinctively with my had which we had been cooking our dinner on for the past hour. It imediately blistered up and i went to the hostpital to check it out. We couldnt work out if we were to cover it all leave it open so just for a bit of advice really. Cant wait to go surfing again but have to wait for my hand to clear up first. Also from the surfing lessons in Byron I still have little cuts / rashes all over my thighs from the strong waves and sand and salt pelting into me at full force. Plus the board which nearly knocked me out! Totally smacked me on the head and I really did think I was going to collapse, luckily the guy saw me and came rushing over as I gulped a few buckets of sea water as another heavy wave came crashing down on me, I was exhausted and battered! Still as I say cant wait to get back on it!
