Brisbane 12th October.

Arrived in Brisbane from Surfers Paradise yesterday on Mikes birthday. its been raining the last couple of days but really hot and humid. We had to give the van back and spent hours driving around Brisbane trying to find the depot and getting a bit stressed out! Finally found it and gave the van back a couple of hours early as there is NO PLACE TO PARK IN BRISBANE whatsoever! Oh there are carparks underground but they are $12 for half an hour! How ridiculous! We got a water taxi back on a mint little cat boat it was great. Really good views of the city. $2.90 each. We went back to Peter Pans and booked the grey hound bus which takes us all the way up to Cairns over 3 months. It is a hop on hop off bus where the buses depart about 4 times a day. It cost us $260 each. So our first stop is Noosa tomorrow. How strange is this that I get a msg from a girl at work Jo at Tangerine Holdings. She is only in Brisbane and is going to Noosa today same as me! Thats crazy. I've text her where I am staying but she hasnt replied so I hope she gets me text or email would be great to meet up! Noosa has the Everglades only two in the world the other i've been to in USA when we ran out of fuel and had aligaters swimming past me very scary for a young girl! We had a walk round Brisbane yesterday, had a bit of a poo meal. I had omelette as Its no carbs past 4pm at the present diet, but it only came with 2 pieces of toast! I couldnt resist and ate the toast, I might as well have got the chicken burger which is what I actually wanted but chose the no carb omelette! Oh well! I also had beers which is carbs so i was pretty much doomed. I really want to eat all the fish options on the menu but they are always like $18. We eat out once a day and usually pick something from $7 - $12 each to save our pennies. I told the water Cat taxi to give a shout out for Mikes Bday which she did, she said no-ones ever asked her to do that before! I also told the bar manager at the hostel and he gave us 1/2 price dirnks, a free jager bomb which the barman drank with us and put some balloons and deco up. We had a J left over from nimin so we had that before we went to bed aswell, We only lasted till about 10 oclock! Muched about 2 bags of crisps each and hit the sack! Up again this morning at 6.00am as usuall! I could never understand people who naturally woke and got up that early in the morning but thats what we do now! I think we are gettin old as we just want to spend time together, get up early, do some excersice, surfing, and go to bed early! We prefer a nice meal with entertainment (which i remember is what my nana and grandad always like) Rather than going to a club! Maybe actually its because none of my friends are here and i dont have a raving dance partner I dont know but i'm enjoying it in oz doing what we do. Speak to you soon peeps! x x x x
