Our Chile Top 5 favourite:
1) San Pedro De Atacama- A beautiful little town to visit and we wish we had time to spend longer there. We Could quite happily have booked into a posh hostel here, eaten in the lovely restaurants sampling the Chilean cuisine, drinking lots of Pisco Sours, and also going on alot more tours especially the horse-riding through the canyons. We would love to visit this town again.
2) Navimag Ferry- A great way to see Patagonia and made a lovely change from the bus! The Whale sightings definitely made this trip special and it was a great way to relax and enjoy the scenery for a few days. The Chilean Fjords are very beautiful.
3) Torres del Paine- Extremely tough but well worth it. We look back on this trek with 'fond' memories of the highly changeable weather, the drowned rat look, and the numerous blisters; however the views and the photos we got from this experience where as amazing as the place itself.
4) Santiago- An amazing city and has something for everyone. Probably our favourite city so far because you could wander round all day and constantly be within metres of an attraction or historic building or garden etc. You also felt safe which is a nice (and highly missed) feeling after visiting so many dodgy places! It's a shame we was both poorly here however it didn't dampen our spirits for this place. Another place that we would visit again.
5) Mummies- The worlds oldest Chinchorro mummies in Arica where fascinating and even Jonathan was wowed by the history of them. An excellent attraction and very educational. It makes me want to change profession and learn to be an archeologist!
