Hey Everyone!
We have been and explored Northern Wales this week - just for something to do to fill in all of our spare time, being unemployed and all! We drove down from Edinburgh - and stayed in Blackpool on the way there - just cus thats where everyone from Coro goes on there holidays!! It was almost hurricane conditions there, and super cold, nobody around as its there off season. On the way to Wales we stopped off in Preston so Paul could get a photo with the sign - where we got caught in a torrential downpour and absolutely soaked! Weather over here is fantastic at the moment!!!
Our first stop in Wales was Porthmadog, after we had driven through the Snowdonia national park. Much the same scenery as NZ, except the rocks are better for building fences! We then went to Criccieth and Caernarfon castles which were pretty awesome! Then it was on too Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (this is the actual name of the town which means: 'St Mary's Church in the hallow of the White Hazel near a rapid whirpool and the Church of St Tysilio near the Red Cave') This is the village with the longest name in Britain - and some even claim in Europe. The signage in the town was awesome - with most te shops writing the name out in full!
Returning to Edinburgh, we stopped off in Chester to see the cool tudor style buildings. Then it was to Manchester, where we went to some christmas markets, and on the giant ferris wheel over the city! We had no luck in finding coronation street - or seeing any stars! Then it was onto the Yorkshire dales - which is just heaps of rolling hills with stone fences every where!
Hoping to do the sights of Scotland next. . .
