Hi!
We are just back from a weekend in Belgium where we went to see the christmas markets - which were very cool, and pretty. 6 of us from home went - Me Paul Gee Hannah Jimmy and Christine. We went with a tour group there which made it easier, not having to do a lot of organising, and was mostly all kiwiz and aussies! Had a really great time
We left London at 7am and bused to Dover, where we caught the ferry to Calais, and then went to the Brussels markets first. We had a really disgusting lunch in a resturant before going to a pub that features in the guiness book of records for having the most different kinds of beers - over 2000. You can even get really yummy fruit flavoured beer too, that was super cheap. Then it was to the markets, where the only things we brought was junk food, including waffles, chocolate and toffee apples. Later in the afternoon we travelled back to Brugge where we spent the night, and the next day. We went out for drinks, and ended up having a really big night, which was fun!
On Sunday we were up early, well some of us were, and headed down to the Brugge Xmas markets! Brought some Xmas decorations etc, before going ice skating! Georgia, me, Paul and Hannah gave it a go and Paul was the only one to fall over, which appearantly meant he was trying the hardest! Then we went on a Canal tour - as there are actually heaps and heaps of canals in Brugge - the Venice of the North appearantly. The rain half managed to stay off, but was good to have a look around. Then it was back to the markets for one last look before heading back to London. . . Overall was very cool, and a fun place to go!
Catch yas later!
