Left our Punta Del Diablo hostel, via the owner's van, in time for the mystical 10.30 bus to Chui. Mystical because no bus in that direction turned up until closer to 12. Set off along the sandy pathways through the village's wooden cabanas, with a bit of bird spotting on the way, then to the top of the sand dunes for a great view of Playa Grande. Got stuck on one part sand that was unbearably hot, causing a moment of panic before scarpering back to where we had come from. Horribly early 5.45 alarm, in order to make the 7.00 bus to Punta Del Diablo. Took 5 hours rather than the scheduled 4, stopping every couple of hundred metres in every town, village, hamlet, and uninhabited piece of land on the way.
