Whilst Amy opted for a leisurely sunday morning, Lucio and I hit the golf course (near Acajutla/Playa Los cabonos). Before you say anything, golf is not so leisurely when you are playing in the 'jungle' (at least the grass was due a cut), it is boiling hot, there are things that bite everywhere, and your golf is diabolical. Just when things looked like they were picking up with a birdie on a tricky par 5, the course (and its inhabitants) bit back when I stood on an ants nest - rather painful but at least our caddie thought it was funny. We survived and returned to San Salvador to see how Amy was getting on with the dogs. Went to Playa Costa Del Sol to east of San Salvador where we played in some rather large waves, ate Belizian snail salad and paella complete with whole crabs. Caught in a storm on the way home, experienced the worst of el salvadoran driving, which at best is terrible - those cars that have lights tend not to use the indicators, which is a shame given that undertaking occurs as commonly as overtaking, and the amount of avoidance manouvres necessary given the various moving objects (cows, pigs, dogs, chickens, pedestrians, horses, cyclists) that tend to meander across any road with not a care in the world. This is quite a title given the competition, but el Salvador definitely takes the worst driving in central America award.... so far.....
