Singapore was my final destination; I was only in the city for 2 days, most of which I spent shopping! Primarily I was buying presents but I couldn't pass up the opportuinty of getting cheap electronic goods, and so bought myself a netbook. I was lucky to have stumbled across a huge electronics fair with all the major brands launching their latest products at discount prices. I got a fantastic deal on the latest LG which I am thrilled with - and I'm using it right now to type up my blog!
Singapore is a great city and such an easy place to be, especially compared to most other SE Asian cities. The transport is fast, efficient and spotless, the streets are clean and easy to navigate and the city is very safe. The government is notoriously strict, doling out hefty fines for things like littering or crossing the yellow line at a train station (!) but apparantly they have eased up a little in recent years. I was staying in Little India which I loved - so much curry! Yum. The area was always buzzing with people and I enjoyed sitting in little curry houses, soaking up the atmosphere while drinking sweet lassi and watching the world go by.
So my trip has finally come to an end. It has been better than I ever could have hoped or imagined, and I know how lucky I am to have had such a fun, safe trip. The people I've met and the places I've seen will always stay with me, and I hope to visit many of them again. As for now, I head home with a spring in my step, looking forward to seeing family and friends and surprising Olly for his birthday!
I hope you have all enjoyed reading about my trip and I'm sure I'll be seeing you soon.
