We started our Oz Experience bus tour on the 4th (very early might i add!!!) and left for Spot X - surf camp.

We met some nice peeps on the bus and by the time we arrived we had picked a good bunch of people to share a dorm with. For 50$ we had accommodation, surf lesson, breakfast, lunch and dinner so cant complain. On route to the surf camp they stopped at the 'bottle shop' so everyone could stock up on booze, 'goon' aka boxes of wine (Mum you'd love it here!!) is a popular one. After being shown around and given dinner we all started chatting and the drinking games commenced (i lost one round - thanks do dave and had to down some beer - yuk!!) but i got him back later and he had to down the 's*** mix'! Our surf lesson was quite early so we didn't go to bed too late but one of the girls in our room, Becs pucked on another one of the girls feet, Daisy and was put to bed early - not long after we followed to find Becs asleep - fully clothed on a bed, the door open and a puddle of something on the floor? After a few minutes the rest of the girls followed with Steve and were irate as they apparently found an enormous spider and cockroach in the room - so they dropped the 'goon' thus puddle on the floor and ran to find Dave, they couldn't find Dave so settled for Steve and brought him back! Nothing could be found so we all started getting ready for bed when Daisy - only 19 bless her, who hates spiders began to cry (i felt bad as id been laughing at her up till this point!) then the spider appeared and crawled over the unconscious Becs so Dave had to kill it (with my flip flop may i add!!) with the all the girls now jumping and screaming. Dave was then the hero of the night! chuckle

We all then decided to get some sleep ready for the early morning surf lesson but about an hour or so later Dave called my name - i answered and asked what he wanted but he didn't answer - then i heard someone moving around and heard another one of the girls say 'that not your bed you cant sleep there' - someone then fell off the bed! and started to move around and then eventually left the room. Turned out it was the drunken Becs had woken up and tried to get into bed with Dave (who in turn thought it was me!) chuckle - she then got out and tried to get into another girls bed and then went out to the toilet. The next morning we all had a laugh as she couldn't remember anything but was just happy she was as pissed as she was as she has a real fear of spiders and wouldn't of been able to sleep if she'd have known is was there!

So, the surf lesson - we got fitted with our sexy wet suits and humongous boards and headed down to the beach, we had a quick lesson and headed for the surf. Dave was really good and stood up before i even got in the water - no surprise that i wasn't as good but we both really enjoyed it - i did stand up once and there was some pics taken which we may purchase to prove it but not sure if she missed it as i only stood up the once and fell down so quick!!

After surf camp we headed to Byron Bay and have now arrived - our hostel is opposite the famous Cheeky monkeys where we went tonight, we had dinner and a free drink for 5$ as Oz exp people get VIP? The bar also gives away free trips and has things like wet t-shirt competitions so our drunk friend Becs may be crawling into Dave's bed again soon ;-)

We have booked 5 nights here then head to surfers - due to it being peak season we will be booking fraser island and whitsunday's soon too, so quite a bit to look forward too.

Will try and update after we leave each place (dependant on how organised i can be!!)
