We are currently in Choma. It is 525am and we are getting ready to ride to Livingstone 190 kms away. We have ridden from Lusaka over the past 2 days and covered about 300 kms. There is little surprise I am already feeling physical discomfort. Saddle soreness being my primary complaint. At times especially after lunch I can feel quite sick while riding. This has happened before. I think it is my body adjusting to eating so much combined with the sustained physical exertion. The only way I can describe these boys is to liken them to machines. They can ride at a cracking pace and they all climb well. We have a peloton of 5 and it works quite well. The scenery can be nondescript at times like the Oz outback but as we approach a village there is plenty to see. There are lots of young Mums and little children. Few elderly. 25% of the Zambian population have aids which is sad and thought provoking. There is some wealth in Zambia but there is also abstract poverty. There are huge corn fields, sugar cane and charcoal. That is what will remind me of Zambia. We have been riding in about 27 degrees but strangely enough I am really feeling the heat whilst riding. Strange considering I trained in hot dry Adelaide heat. I am constantly opening my cycling jersey for air and tipping water down my back. I have drunk 5 liters of water while riding in a given day. The guys dont seem as affected by the heat. Sleeping patterns are weird I can't seem to sleep longer than 6 hours. The guys have just arrived in my room for breakfast so I must sign off. Eating is a ritual. I can't believe how much they consume. We are staying in a lodge currently and I will pinch some honey sachets which I use for gel shots throughout the day. I have posted some photos of the visual feast I am privy to on the bike.

Rahmat My Friend: I am assuming you have a slow lens, f/4.5. If you are going to take picutre of wild life, these long lens are good becuse you can take picutres of the wild life without getting to near. You must have in consideration the hours you are plenning in taking the picutres. If it's to early in the morning, you will have to play with the sensitivity botton of the camera to take the picutre. This also applies if it is too late in the afternoon. Another consideratiion, is if you are going to use flash. It should sincronize with the lens. If you are planing in taking picutre of people, mostly portraits, the lens is ok, but if you are takining picutres of a tribe in a ceremony, this lens is a NO. In these kinds of events, you take portrait picutres as group of people together, for each one, you need diferent lens.Concider for next time to buy a ZOOM lens 70-300 f/3.5 or f/4 auto focus or a Zoom 28-300 f/3.5 or f/3.8. The advantage of a zoom 28-300 lens is that you have various lenses in one. From a wide angle to a long telephoto lens.If you stand in a strategic place, you can take good portrait picutres and also group of person or wide areas without changing your lens or moving from your shooting position.Well, I hope this can give you some help.
