The family birthday celebration is finally here - we are celebrating grandmas 90th birthday at the museum cafe - a farm and museum in the levin countryside. We only have a small family but everyone has made an effort to come to share this special milestone. Grandma is wearing one of the nice outfits we picked out the last time I was here, and is full of energy and high spirits. Unfortunately Nikki is unwell and could not come, but we had me, Donna, mum, Rochelle's family, stephens family, jan, ralph her brother, Ron and Marge, scott and his family, Keith and Paula. She gave a short speech and said she wished her husband alf was here to share the birthday - she lost her husband early and her son earlier so there were great sadnesses in her life. The weather was wet and gusty so all photos had to be inside. I have taken lots of photos for a photo book we will be giving grandma of all the family - hope she likes it! I really enjoyed the opportunity to spend some more time with Keith and paula.

I buy some groceries to cook dinner for everyone, as I never get an opportunity to feed them but they are always feeding me. We have Italian - antipasta of cheese and salami and rolls of pancetta pear and rocket - saltimbocca with roasted beetroot salad and potatoes - then apricot tart for dessert. We all sit down with some wine and watch a great Tarantino movie - inglorious basterds - with an alternative take on German Nazi occupied France - I really enjoyed this film.
