Everybody was up and ready to depart the hotel at 9:30am. The drive to Alamo car rental was easy and uneventful.
Once we had dropped the car off and were on the bus to the airport I realised I had left my baseball cap from Randy in the Jeep. After checking our bags in I went back to Alamo, but the jeep had already been rented and the cap had not been found.
We grabbed lunch to pass the time at Raleigh airport at 42nd oyster bar. I went for the Carolina classic of shrimp and grits.
The flight up to JFK was only an hour. The sun was shining and we had a great view of manhattan. All this did was make me not want to get on the next flight, especially with Stefan and Amanda's engagement party this Saturday.
The journey had to continue though. I purchased a couple of T shirts from Armarni, & we had a light snack in a beach bar by the gate.
On the flight we had our own televisions and I was able to watch Django. No sleep was possible as I was sat near the crew preparation area, which was noisy and lit all night. We did get complimentary champagne shortly after takeoff to celebrate my dads birthday.
Upon arriving at Heathrow we had to go through huge queues for immigration and security again. Finally we did make it through and had a good breakfast at Gordon Ramsey's plane food. Though not as good as the breakfasts at Jesmond Dene House.
