My final day in Australia. As expected the holiday has flown by. Thankfully I wasn’t hungover by the time I got up. With a nice slow start to the morning, we met Laura’s mother for brunch. I of course opted for the Grande that was a monster. It represented the best value for money though. The restaurant is attached to a supermarket & offers great value meals through the week, that I’m told are quite tasty.
The plan for today was very simple. Do as little as possible. What worked out best was for me to sit by the pool at Laura’s parents house and catch as much sunshine as I could. I’m sure they both thought me mad being out in the midday sun as I was but I loved it. I remained here until 17:00 until I headed back to Laura’s to pack. Fitting all the wine in the one bag proved quite the challenge. I hope it makes it home unscathed.
To round off the evening Laura prepared a splendid cheeseboard for her parents and I. We sat out in the garden until it was time to set off to the airport at 20:00. Had I not had my flight I think we may have sat there long into the evening. This was a very nice way to end the trip.
Laura kindly dropped me off at the airport, where I only had an hour until I boarded for the long journey home. I would prefer to go to bed and wake up in Newcastle of course but I’m sure the journey will be fun!
See everyone very soon.
