Overnight I had a message from Scotty who was at his local bar creating cocktails. I chatted to him & Becky between 08:00 & 09:00 then got up for a coffee.
Laura being the good host had come up with a breakfast suggestion that her brother had recommended. It did not disappoint. Luigi's doesn't have a set menu & the waitress came and sat down at the table to discuss the options. We opted for the sharing platter with extra veg for the veggie. More bacon for me, winner! The photo is probably best to see how good the breakfast was. It tasted as good as it looked. Over breakfast we ironically chatted about our gym routines & diets. Smugly stuffing our faces with one of the biggest breakfasts in town while justifying it as we workout!
Exercise was needed after that brekkie. This was a perfect time for Laura to take me on a walk around her beautiful city. I have come to Adelaide at a time where there are so many things happening. Car racing, writers week, the Adelaide festival and the fringe to name just a few. I had no idea any of this was happening when booking my trip.
We walked the main shopping street a longer more relaxed version of Northumberland Street, then headed down to Adeliade Oval where we popped in for some photos. Along the river past the university took us to the Botanical gardens and some chill time.
As we were well into the afternoon it was time for a apple cider. At NOLA we grabbed a booth. We chatted movies and all things Sci Fi, not sure who is the biggest geek at the table. It must be a tie as we came up with the plan to head to a novelty cinema to watch Black Panther. We know how to party on a Friday night! One more cider at the Exeter pub was spoilt by people drilling and setting up an outdoor BBQ area no less than 5minutes after we sat outside.
Back at Laura's I planted myself in the garden for a couple of hours in the 31degree sun. Plenty of sunscreen was used in the making of this tan.
The Gold Class cinema experience was pretty fun. Once we got there after a driver that hadn't a clue what he was doing who took over ten minutes to cross the road. In the lounge before hand you ordered your drinks and dinner. You let them know at what time during the film you would like them brought out to you. Proper table service in a cinema. The seats reclined and you had footrests. Comfort personified. The film itself was funny and interesting. We are both excited about next month Avengers film coming out.
Back home the Geek squad continued our culturally diverse evening by watching the Netflix series Black Lighting. Based on the DC comics. This seems a good show if not quite up to the levels of Supergirl or the Flash.
