When we woke Emily had already knocked off 5miles on a run around the countryside.
Becky & I had a slower start to the morning taking coffee out on the decking enjoying what was already a hot day. I made breakfast of bacon & eggs for everyone while Stefan went out for a run too.
Upon his return we headed north for lunch. One hour took us into Vermont state and lunch was had at the Billington brewery. Becky bless her didn’t have the greatest time, not really enjoying most of the 8 beers she had chosen in her flight. Quite hungry too, she thought she had done well ordering wings without any cheese, & just the BBQ sauce. She didn’t realise though that it was Chipotle BBQ sauce. Another spicy meal for her! Still she was able to enjoy some of her fries & her glass of water. Emily had chosen the same beers as myself but didn’t like them as much as I did. Billington was a nice small town, good to visit in the summer when it was super hot. Our scenic drive home didn’t have any stops until the Winery close to home but it was a nice drive through Massachusetts. Pittsfield in particular seemed very nice with it’s lake.
The winery was a charming setting, but it was a one man band and we had to wait a while to be served. The tasting was fun and only $7 for 6 wines. Becky and I grabbed a bottle of the dry Riesling to take home to the UK.
Following a trip to the price chopper, our evening was spent in and out the hot tub. Interspersed with a game of beer pong, an episode of the ranch, & munching on some tater tots and Bratwursts.
