Having originally planned to meet Stefan & Emily for an early museum visit I opted instead to spend longer in bed. I eventually mobilised myself to head out for lunch at a large Irish bar near to my hotel, around 12:00. After which I planned a slow walk through the streets towards Stefan's hotel which did involve another stop off on the way at a small local corner bar.
By the time I reached the Hilton the weather had deteriorated & we decided against going for a boat cruise. While having another drink in the Sky Lounge we planned a route & places to visit on the final evening.
Our first stop was a bar on the water nearby the hotel, where we grabbed some nachos & Stefan & I tried a couple of local beers, which had some witty stories on the back of the bottle. With it only drizzling we walked for around 30minutes due to having to go around the lake, to a very popular brewery. Brouwerij't IJ, is next to old windmill & produces a range of organic beers. At this point we opted to engage in international drinking rules for the remainder of the evening. This proved quite tricky as the evening wore on. Especially not saying anyone's name, or mentioning the word 'drink'. The rain was coming down at this point so we agreed to split an uber to Rembrandtplein. I had stayed here with on a previous visit when Holland had won an international fixture and remembered it being a busy colourful location. We sat for a while before once again moving on to Chinatown for dinner. Stefan impressed the old lady serving us, with his Chinese. He didn't impress her by smashing a glass at the end of what was a really tasty meal.
After dinner we arrived almost exactly at 20:00 for the improv-comedy show. As we were the last to arrive all the seats had been taken in front of stage. This worked out well for us as we were allowed to go upstairs to the gallery. We had this area all to ourselves & was able to spread out. The show Boom Chicago is very similar to the comedy show Whose Line Is it Anyway. It was extremely funny, we were able to purchase a bucket of beers to enjoy in the second half of the show at the intermission. Immediately following the show we chatted to the participants in the bar area. We decided to round off the evening with one more drink at a bar located halfway between mine & Stefan's hotel.
