As it had started to rain through the night we opted to skip breakfast & set off on our journey to Zouma. Strangely the mud road leading out of the Cape had become harder to traverse despite two days of sunshine. Thankfully torrent we had waded through to get in had subsided.
The journey took slightly longer than it normally would due to the teaming rain. Setting off around 11:00 we arrived at 14:30.
We went for lunch at the sun resort. Which is a national chain partly owned by the government. The rain was sadly still pouring down which ruined the view from the mountain top location. But once again the fish was very tasty, & after lunch we grabbed a couple of beers in the bar while catching up on the weekends football action.
At Cassa Del Rossa we took a dorm room for the night. The power & the water had just gone off before we got there. We spent the rest of the afternoon playing cards by candlelight. I enjoyed as much as I could eat as of a lovely crocodile gnocchi.
It was difficult to sleep as the rain kept bashing off the roof. It felt like we were at sea with the waves crashing against the door.
