The day started at 03:30am where I headed off to Newcastle Airport. First flight out of the day, I still had time to pick up some duty free for Cristel.
Things went wrong in Amsterdam where I was delayed for an hour. If u have travelled through there u know u get kept in a holding area before u board. Needless to say it was pretty dull, as was the further 45minute wait on the plane as they continued to work on the water system.
At this point I was convinced I would miss my connection & have to spend the night in Nairobi. But thankfully Kenya Airways delayed their flight for our arrival due to the number of passengers getting that connection.
I finally arrived into Lilongwe two hours late at 01:20am. Scotty & Cristel had patiently waited for me to arrive. A quick hello from the police on our way home, nothing on the Bosnian scale, thankfully.
Once back home Cristel retired for the evening as Scotty & I had a catch up over some duty free gin & a bottle of wine. He had picked up some local currency for me as seen in the photo.
It's good to finally be here & can let the holiday commence!
