We took a 2-day one night cruise in Halong Bay, it was all included, expensive and very beautiful:)
We sailed on this gorgeous wooden boat, really sweet cabins btw, and a breathtaking view. First day we went to this cave and did some kayaking as well. Evening was spent playing cards (yanif), as usual. Man I find sailing on a boat so romantic and this one was just so beautiful. Only minus was that the food was mediocre, drinks were not included and we had to give up the rooms early in the morning. And too bad it was a bit cold and foggy, didn't do any swimming:(
Then we were off to Hanoi again, next day we got the bikes and helmets and all, I spent time trying to figure out what my options are for staying a longer time in Vietnam. The bikes had all sorts of tehcnical difficulties. Luckily a 4th guy, Gili, joined us since he's an expert with motorbikes. So he knows what's what. Celebrated our last night before the road with drinks in a rooftop bar and left 5 am this morning to avoid the morning rush hour.
It wasn't a smooth day at all, but well, it was the first. We had a lot of issues with everyone's bikes, went to many garages on the way to get them fixed. But in the end we arrived in Nin Binh, staying here for one night ant going forward again tomorrow. The ride was crazy because of the traffic as well, obviously. The VIetnamese drive like madmen, too. But it was damn cool! I rode the first day with Gili cause Amos wanted to get a feel of the bike by himself first and wanted me to be as safe as possible. aww:) I did drive around with him after arriving though, we went to see the beautiful surroundings of the city (pagodas, river, mountains). Other than that, the city isn't too interesting.
Gotta keep travelling on!
