Si Phan Don, aka 4000 islands, is the southern-most point of Laos where the Mekong river breaks into pieces leaving a bunch of islands in between. Don Det is the one packpackers prefer. I spent 4 nights there and loved every minute of it! Those 4 days consisted of a lot of swimming, floating around in a tube and swimming in between islands, laying in a hammock, reading, eating very very well (in this most amazing Indian restaurant), having campfires on the beach...

I'm far away from Vang Vieng already, but I've been too far from a good and cheap internet connection, so there is a little delay:) Vang Vieng is the biggest backpacker hangout and party mecca in Laos. Phonsavanh is an interesting Soviet Union style town with heeps of war history. I arrived here 2 nights ago with Chris and Johannes. Yesterday was tough. Our last day in Pai was so cool, still went to see a Chinese village and a beautiful waterfall. Then we had to give back the bikes, said goodbye to Jens who went back to Sweden. And then Dan and I went back to the Happy House where Frits was buying us rum and coke, then took us for dinner and walked us to the bus. Such a great guy!
