My flight was long, I'm lucky and slept most of the way but even my knees and back hurt so I imagine other people must have been hurting more than me. It's like going in a time warp because it felt like it was dark for days and they woke you up in the middle of the night to eat dinner, it was weird.
I'm really liking it here :o) I've adjusted just enough now that I can cross the street by myself and trust me that's a huge feat around here :o) I still don't know how to begin to explain the atmosphere and everything, I'm going to try and down down some pictures tonight. The computer doesn't have the software installed so I'll see if I can set it up later.
I've spent the last 2 days wondering the streets and checking out everything from lakes to museums to cathedrals. I like just looking at the locals and their way of life the most, it's amazing and so different. The people are wonderful, friendly, welcoming, and helpful. And they sell everything from baskets they carry on their head or balance on sticks or else off bikes.
There is nothing close to a 7-11 here or McDonalds, not even a grocery store or anything like that. But I've been eating good, fruits, bread, yogurt for breakfast, interesting sandwiches for lunch and had dinner last night at a really cool resturant, pork chop rice bowl, Yum!!
Tonight, in 1/2 hour I meet my tour group and we're going out for dinner. I already meet my roomy. She's a very nice older lady, I think we're going to get along just fine :O)
Tomorrow morning I'm off to Halong Bay, snorkel in the caves & sleep on the boat, I can't wait!! Whoo-Hoooo!!!
