This morning we went for a walk in Burbank. We stopped at a cafe and I had a strawberry lemonade smoothie. We also went to a Shop called Rocket Fizz which had lots of American lollies and signs with phrases on them. We then went back to my Auntie's house to get ready to go camping. When we arrived we said hello to everyone at the shared campsite. My Auntie's friends are mostly deaf. I spelt my name out in sign language. We put our things in our tent and walked the dogs down to the beach. We had dinner and then cooked 'smores' on the campsite fire. A 'smore' is a cooked marshmallow squished with chocolate between two sweet biscuits. They were fun to make and very yummy. There are bikes here known as beach cruisers. Dad thinks they are funny but he likes riding them to the store. Late at night there are many skunks that invade the campground. I haven't seen one yet but my Mum and Dad have. Last night they pulled apart a large bag of rubbish that some other campers left near our site. They made a big mess. The locals are cautious not to upset the skunks and get sprayed with smelly stuff. My Auntie got so frightened by one she fell over 3 camp chairs. My Dad thought it was very funny.
