Hello! So we have completed the south island of New Zealand.....and loved every minute of it!!!!

I left off at Franz Josef on my last blog which is half way down the west coast of the south island. We arrived in franz josef to rain which was the first bad day we had had in New Zealand which was really unfortunate because we did the glacier walking that day! We still went ahead and did it though we got all kitted out in really cool waterproof gear (haha) and the biggest bumbags I have ever seen!!! I tell you we looked cool (can you read the sarcasm!) The day was actually really fun even though it did downpour the whole time! We walked on top of and inbetween the glacier (the photos are on facebook) it was pretty awesome, however at one point when we were all walking inbetween 2 huge ice walls there was a massive rumble and I was standing next to our guide and said...what was that?...he shouted AVALANCE!!! at which point he then shouted RUNNNNN....I was stuck between 2 ice walls thinking OMG im going to get trapped down here, but the guide actually meant Run back so we could see the avalance on the cliff near us!!!! Amy said she was running for her life coz we didnt know what was going on!!! funny after but at the time we all had white faces haha!!!

So the next day after our glacier walking was of course a glorious blue sky sun out day!!! typical!!! and that weather has continued for the rest of the south island! typical but good!!! We then headed down towards queenstown stopping at some scenic points along the way to see some more beautiful scenary and gorgeous lakes, and another glacier called fox glacier. The whole of New Zealand is gorgeous scenary!!! We stopped off at Wanaka which is a lovely little town by lake wanaka. We then headed to Queenstown where we have just spent a week having a lot of fun!!!!

Queenstown....I will some up queenstown......IT IS THE BEST PLACE EVER!!!! We stayed in a brand new hostel which was right in the centre of town it was so nice to be in a really brand new hostel with really good facilities for a change. Queenstown is right by lake Wakatipu and its just gorgeous and really quaint! Skiing in the winter and fun activities in the summer! I would describe it as Morzine but more modern, full of young people, lots of bars and restuarants and lots of fun things to do! We of course as you all know took part in the best activity there which is the Nevis Bunjy!!! I have never been so scared in my life but it was well worth it and I got the biggest adrenaline rush ever!! I dont know how im going to top that! Standing on that ledge was just insane but I didnt want to stand there for that long so i just jumped straight away!!! We both ended up coming back up upside down because you are meant to pull this rope thats attached to your legs when you are on the second bounce to release your legs and flip you the right way....however amy couldnt pull it out and I didnt even try because I was so disorientated that I just thought sod it Im just going to enjoy the bouncing and come back up upside down! We both had red faces after haha!!! Im sure you have all seen the video!!! We went up the cable car to view the sights of queenstown from high up...again gorgeous scenary! The weather was perfect the whole time!!! The rest of the time we spent having fun, getting drunk, and eating a lot of fergbergers.....for those of you who dont know what this is, its the best burger in town! you can only get them in queenstown and they are massive!!! I had 5 in total in 7 days....which i think was a pretty good record!! Only 1 of which i ate sober....they were the best late night take aways...i dont know what im going to eat now after a night out!!!!

We left queenstown yesterday it was sad times and headed back upto christchurch where we just missed the biggest aftershock by about 2 hours....we kinda wanted to be there when there was a shake but we didnt get one!!! And tomorrow we head upto the north island where there is a lot more fun to be had....sky dive, volcano walking, abseiling down caves and generally having more fun!!!!

Hope the weather here continues to be ace...its getting into their summer now so its only getting warmer which is really good!!!
