Hi everyone,
We spent 5 days in Buenos Aires and really loved it. The city has quite a European feel and felt much safer than places in Brazil.
We spent most of our time simply wandering around the city (trying not to spend money) and seeing the famous districts.
As we were in the capital of tango we couldnt not see a show and we went to the oldest tango venue in BA. The dancing wsa phenomenal and we had free champagne! We also went to Boca to see the coloured houses there, and went to the Recoletta cemetary to see where Evita is buried. Her tomb isnt really that spectacular but the whole experience was really surreal. It was a city of mausoleums and a little creepy.
Having heard so much about Argentinian night life we had a big night out on our last night in BA. We left our hostel nice and early at 1.30am to start the night but our britishness worked against us and we were earlybirds heading home at 5.00am. It was a brilliant night (we think it was a gay night as there were cross dressers everywhere and a lot of pvc) but there was a stage and there were breakdancers and rappers and a matt lucas lookalike dressed as a woman! We of course had some steak and it is definately the best weve ever had (apart from the bit we tried to cook ourselves that was so massive it was still cold in the middle)
Weather is still fantastic!!
Lots of love Hannah and Rhys xxxx
