Sorry about the minor delay in the blogs...we've now moved away from the big cities and into the more rural areas where internet is slightly harder to come by!
So we decided for our last bus journey in Argentina to splash out and go for the bus which has actual beds in it. It was rather luxurious so its going to be a slight shock when we get to the Bolivian buses which seem to be renowned for being the worst in South America by a long way!
Salta is a lovely little city surrounded by beautiful mountains and rivers etc. However, there is not much to do actually in the city, its more of a place for outdoor adventure. So we decided to take to the rivers for a day of white water rafting. Georgia was slightly apprehensive about the whole thing having not done it before but we both enjoyed it immensely! Set 2 hours outside Salta, the river was literally in the middle of the mountains which was so nice for us having spent 2 weeks in busy BA. We got kitted out in the most ridiculous outfits and did the 2 hour raft down the river (the name of which we fail to remember) with our guide Gustavo and 2 other people and strangely the dog that belonged to the company's owner! Quite hilarious, it wore its own little lifejacket. We thought this was slightly crazy putting a dog in a raft down rapids but it turns out the dog does it everyday and was far more calm about the whole thing than any of us! Afterwards, they treated us to a typical Argentinian 'Asado' which is basically a barbeque. Yum.
We still really enjoying every second here and loving being in the rural outdoors.
Loads of love and hugs xxxxxxxxxxxxx
