We just had the most amazing 2 weeks in BA! It would take forever to write down everything that we did but we'll let you know several of our highlights!

We started off in Palermo which is the classy, trendy expensivo area. It wasn't much to our liking but we enjoyed many empanadas at our favourite place "Mi Matute" and hanging out at Plaza Serrano. After a few nights there we moved to San Telmo, which is very much the opposite to Palermo. Here there are many antique shops and we enjoyed the Sunday market where we bought lots of jewellery and chorizo sandwiches. On one of the rainy days we thought we'd be particularly cultured and went to the cinema to see Alice in Wonderland (the first of 2 trips).

Having experienced 2 not so exciting hostels we moved to the much raved about Milhouse in centro where we finally settled in and began to love BA. As you may or may not know, the city is centered almost completely around its nightlife (with the night starting at 2am and ending at day break), so we struggled to find activities to do during the day. One of our highlights however was our day trip to the zoo. Pretty much your average zoo with a sealion show and a very expressive orangutan who liked to rub her tummy to tell us that she was hungry. We also did a tour to Tigre, just north of the city, which wasn't that eventful but interesting to see the different way of life in the Delta where you can't get by day to day life without a boat.

Our last week here has been packed full of exciting things. Firstly, Georgia managed to start the first round of food poisoning (a great way to prepare for Bolivia). She quickly recovered and we went around Recoleta cemetary where we saw Evita's grave. Hannah, being the cultured person that she is, needed some enlightening on this matter but she enjoyed it all the same. The cemetary was a very peculiar and slightly eerie place as there were row upon row of spectacular and ornate tombs filled with coffins and family hierlooms.

On Wednesday we finally experience the legend that is La Cabrera, supposedly the best steak house in BA where they feed you steak from cows that have been massaged during their rearing - extravagent we know! It was a truly spiffing night, filled with champagne and the best red wine from Mendoza. Needless to say our purses did have large holes in by the end...but definately worth it!

Definately one of the best nights of our whole trip so far was Thursday night...the transvestite show at Club 69. Truly like nothing we have ever experienced before!!!!!!!!!! We finally experienced night life in the true Argentinian way and somehow managed to stay on our feet until the late hours of the morning, but that was definately only a one off.

We're nearly done we promise...

So after a little debate we plucked up the courage to take a tango lesson. Much to our surprise, we were definately some of the best in the group and got a little tired of having to lead the men rather than vica versa! After the lesson we were treated to a three course meal whilst watching the history of tango performed on stage complete with actors worthy of an oscar...However, the dancing was incredible and we left feeling slightly envious of their skills.

Finally, we cannot get by without describing to you the shear bliss we experienced from the ice cream in BA. It honestly is nothing like you've ever tasted before and they have every imaginable flavour under the sun. Our particular favourites were Chocolate Suizo, Dulce de Leche con Brownie, Monte Bianco and Tramontana. Our plan to lose some weight this trip has definately failed!!!

Sorry if we've bored you but we definately needed to share with you the amazing 2 weeks that we had in Buenos Aires. We'd love to come back some day.
