First day....

Let the adventure begin, after a couple of days of freedom after the final term of the school year we set off for Manila!

We have definitely been spoilt over the last couple of years, as Cebu Pacific is definitely no Emirates, however, luckily Jonny had just been dosed up on free food and drink in the Marhaba lounge (perks of the baller lifestyle, or just having a dubai credit card), so he was a little calmer than his usual nervous flyer, I'm going to get DVT if you so much as touch me self.

Anyway I digress, basically everyone on the flight was trying to transport themselves and the kitchen sink as hand luggage onto the flight, which brought Jonny to the conclusion that he didn't like Phillipino people and we should just go straight to Japan. However, once we got to the hostel and found a sports bar where he had a full English, he decided the Phillipines might be ok. That evening we went to the Sky deck to get a view of Manila and grab some food. The heavens opened so we didn't get the best view, but was good to see the town from above.

The journey there and back gave us a real feel for Manila though, as it took us about 50 minutes to get to the old town and we had to travel through all the local shanty towns. The best part of the journey was when Jonny asked the driver where all the Phillipines who couldn't even afford a house went on their holidays
