Ho Chi Minh City, our first taste of Vietnam.
At first when we arrived in Ho Chi Minh City (Siagon) it seemed to remind us very much of China & at times it still does. HCMC is a very busy place. There are around 9 millon people living there, over 3 million scooters (I feel at home!), but only 500,000 cars. This is because the streets would be far too busy if everyone had a car.
Our first day we just had a quick look around & then went for a bite to eat & then we saw it........... A CHRISTMAS TREE!!!!!!! It seemed really strange to see a Christmas tree as the weather is so hot it just doesn't feel like Christmas. Anyway, Hannah got really excited & spilled her drink, as you will see in the photos......
The next day we went & visited the Chu Chi Tunnels. These are 200km of tunnels 10 meters under ground. They were built by the communists during & after the Vietnam war. It was pretty cool going down them, but a bit scary as asian people are a lot smaller than western people so it was a bit tight!!!! A very good day overall.
It was then time to visit our 2nd beach...... Nha Trang.....a nice 11 hour journey ahead of us!!!!!
