Ho Chi Minh City, our first taste of Vietnam. At first when we arrived in Ho Chi Minh City (Siagon) it seemed to remind us very much of China & at times it still does. HCMC is a very busy place. There are around 9 millon people living there, over 3 million scooters (I feel at home!), but only 500,000 cars. This is because the streets would be far too busy if everyone had a car. It took 6 hours of hellish driving to get to Vang Vieng- we thought 6 hours was a blessing but we had to travel through, up and over some scary mountians with some even worse road surfaces. Luckily we didn't get travel sick like the two Irish guys we were with! We only stopped here for one night coz we wanted to move on before my b'day, so not much to report, but it was a nice liitle town.
