Liverpool was a great break away, had a fabulous time even though only away for one night!! We were lucky enough to be asked by our landlord if we would like to stay in her apartment whilst she was away. So I, Hamish, Kelly and Paul took a two hour train ride to Liverpool.
The weather was gorgeous all weekend so worked out pretty well for us.
We did 'The Mystery Bus Tour' around Liverpool following famous landmarks of the Beetles songs 'penny lane', 'strawberry fields', where each of them lived or grew up, places where they played 'The Cavern' and famous parts known in Liverpool 'Matthew Street'. The whole bus was singing and listening to their music this whole tour. So was stuck with these songs in my head for the next few days.
On Sunday morning we went on a tour bus which takes you around the attractions of Liverpool, sites included Albert Dock, Mersey River, Royal Liver Building, Streaky Bacon Building (owners owned Titanic), Hope Street, Cathedrals, Philharmonic Pub - posh men's toilets, Philharmonic Theatre.
Whilst in Liverpool, we realised that there was a friendly game on against Athletico Madrid, would have been good to go to but we will go back to Liverpool at a later date to watch a game of football. Seeing we are both fans of Liverpool we went to the Liverpool Football shop whereas Hamish could of brought a lot in there but reluctantly he didn't. We both brought a Liverpool top each, Hamish has the home strip and I have the away strip!!
