Leaving Paris today to the middle of France and for the Chateau de Cruix
Colder day and kind of raining so good day for travelling.
On way to chateau stopped off at Fountainaire which had a massive chateau (Napoleon's) which Napoleon stood with 150 followers to try to rule France for the second time. Had a look around and something to eat - Lisa was not really hungry as was abit hung over from last night
On way to chateau started to get into wine country, it's the Burgundy area or Beaujolais wine region with vineyard owned by JC.
Got to Chateau de Cruix about half 5, feel in love with the Chateau very big and old. What a magnificent place and mind blowing scenery, had an awesome view from our room, also first experience on tour of communal showers and toilets to share between 51 people as there was only one block. Also tiff if you are reading this the pool was open!!! Started to rain but only light was still really lovely to sit outside, the first rain we have had on tour
Before tea we went to a privately owned vineyard and did some wine tasting of JC's red wine, nice fruity taste so brought a bottle.
Had first big hit out with tour party - themed "back to school" in the chateau in the underground bar called "The Cave". Was hard for everyone to get dressed up but managed pretty well between one another to sort something out. Lisa went as a naughty school girl and Hamish as a school boy with our Paris ties that we brought from a souvenir shop 2 for 10 euro!! Was a fantastic night in the basement with everyone. We did the lethal shot which was 55% shot of wine extract - not nice! One was enough to put us off don't know how people could do 3 or at worst 7!!!
