Hello everyone,
So we have been in Cancun two days now and here´s a quick update what we´ve been getting up to.
August 18th
We flew from Reynosa to Mexico City and then onto Cancun and on the flight was a very famous Mexican musician who I pointed out to Phil and got a picture with. Phil said he looked like a tramp who needed some shampoo badly. haha
We booked into the Ritz-Carlton for one night and were pleased to be greeted with two Mayan Citrus Splash that had Tequila in it! So I was pretty excited. We got a room that had an oceanview and were in heaven as I LOVE Cancun. As planning our day we decided to go for a nice meal at Fred´s Seafood restaurant as apparently it was highly recommended. Deciding what to wear I found my dress had a security tag on it and obviously I don´t have lots of options so I had to call the concierge in the hotel to see if someone could remove it and was slightly awkward lol. The seafood in Freds was delicious - I had Salmon and Phil had Lobster.
We have been enjoying the sunshine on the beach and took a dip in the ocean which was soo nice and Phil was very happy that the water was warm and now he knows why I love Cancun so much.
August 19th
We decided to enjoy the posh facilities so we booked a massage. Phil got a fitness massage and I got a Swedish massage. It was pretty awesome. The service was pretty good very on top of it.
We both came out the same time and were so relaxed. We used the steam room, jacuzzi and the cold pool. Phil was pretty excited about the shower because it had water coming out from the walls.
After our relaxed morning we went shopping and got Phil some nice sunglasses. Im really happy that hes now loving shopping. whoop whoop! After shopping we had some Pina Coladas in the marina.
We went back to the hotel to get our stuff to go to the new hotel to meet our group. I was pretty embarrassed to tell the taxi to take us from the Ritz to the Calypso and they all looked at us really weird lol
The Calypso was not too bad at the end. At 6.30pm we met our group leader for the trip. We thought he was pretty intense and he´s from Mexico City. He expained to us everything about the trip and everything sounded very intense. We met the other people they all seemed very nice and apparently I´m the first Mexican joining this trip. They are all from Australia and Phil could not believe it. Our trip will last 7 days and ends in Antigua, Guatemala.
Last night I decided to take Phil to Coco Bongo after our meal which is like one of the best shows/club, even better than Vegas. When we got there I told Phil leave it all to me as this is my country and I know how to handle everything and I talked to the bouncer bargained the price and got us a great position in the middle of the dancefloor so we could enjoy the show better. We are both pretty hungover today and are currently in Isla Mujeres and have been driving around the island and visiting the Turtles and the Mayan architecture.
Tomorrow we have to get up early to join the rest of the group to go to Tulum.
See yall soon!
