I woke up at 4am and got prepared to go to the airport, it was a 10 minutes cab drive from the hotel. The flight was smooth and after a short transit in San Jose, Costa Rica, I arrived in Lima at 2pm. The custom and baggage claim went smoothly and i went directly to Park Kennedy in Miraflores to check in at the Crazy Dog, a backpacker hostel in the middle of the action. Cost of the room $20. I spent the rest of the day, walking around the park.

I ventured in the morning to find an internet cafe. I had to look for a good 2 hours to finally find one. It was located in the big shopping center and the fees were not cheap, seems like everybody here have their own computer or nobody is aware of what the internet is. After, I went to the airport to confirm my flight for tomorrow and went to the artesania market, a very posh place targetting the tourists big time. I wandered around the city a little bit more...

Nobody bothered to notify that I had to leave early. This is the very first day of my long venture into latin America. I cannot say much about Mexico since I have been spending less than 24 hours but my first impression is very good. We keep hearing all these negative things about the city that I was preparing myself for the worse. I did find the city much safer than what I had read everywhere and did not feel that much pollution (Bangkok is probably 10 times worse). I was staying at a small pension about 1 hour...
