Greentrees On Tour
After a very hair-raising drive through the Swiss Alps, we made our way onto Italian soil. For some strange reason, the place just felt so Italian that we didnt need to see the Italian flags to let us know we had crossed the border.
We reached our destination, again with no accommodation pre-booked, which is a little stressful. However we were very lucky in that a very lovely woman from the tourist office located a room for us right on the water of Lake Como, in a little town called Menaggio. This place is absolutely beautiful, and was exactly what we needed, especially for Mal as his cough is getting worse.
During our 3 days, we took the opportunity to see Bellagio, which is really nice and the weather has really improved, with warm sunny days ensuring that we had a really great time.
We are also waking up to the glare of the beautiful lake that shines into our bedroom window each morning. A lot of reading, relaxing and eating plenty of delicious italian food (and maybe a bit of spumante as well) filled the rest of the time.
Also, one of our highlights in this area was attending an Anglican Church right on the water in Lake Como which was held in English, and led by an Australian Pastor. This was a really great opportunity for us and really allowed us to meet some other local people and find out a little more about this beautiful area.
We would have loved to stay longer here but we need to keep moving, with our next destination being Milan.
