Greentrees On Tour
Again, with much disapointment we departed Lake Como for our next destination, Milan. On the way to Milan we discussed what each others expectations were of this city, but apart from the fashion, neither of us had any real expectations, or where to go or what to do. This was probably a good thing, as we were both pretty disappointed as we drove into this city.
Entering Milan felt like entering just another run down city, where grafitti and untidy streets were the main characteristics. We were hoping that as we got closer to the more touristy areas that things would get more colourful and interesting, however we were greatly disappointed. After some walking around we had a very ordinary dinner, not helped by the huge language barrier.
The next day got a little better as we headed into the Duomo Square, where we saw the Milan Cathedral, which was absolutely amazing, because this place was huge and decorated with ornate detail. The rest of the day was spent walking round some fashion districts and sitting in a local park to escape the increasing heat. The longer we were there the more we came to appreciate the city's charms, its beutifully dressed people and its culture. However we were both still happy to leave Milan for our next destination - Venice.
