Fabulous day driving round the Chapman Peak drive. Wonderful scenery then down to the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point. Also saw the penguins after an enjoyable lunch at a restaurant on the beach. C and I had a paddle in the sea which was very refreshing to the feet!! Dinner in a fish restaurant at the Waterfront.

What a day. So humbling and enlightening. Taken by minibus driven by our guide to the township of Langna, the oldest in S Africa. Interesting visit to a men's club and two modern 'flats. So fascinating. Tremendous visit to a Church service that we so enjoyed. What a memorable visit. So many highlights. Exciting day today driving the coastal route to the Cape of Good Hope along Chapman Peak Drive. The scenery is stunning all the way in all directions. At the Nature Reserve on the Pount we saw eland and ostriches as well as glorious flowers and birds. So lucky to get to the Cape without any one there except for us. Beautiful weather today. Very warm with clear blue skies. Wonderful weather for Table Mountain as no wind at all. Drove straight there- about an hour. Unfortunately despite having our tickets, we joined the back of a long queue for the cable car. Waited over 3/4 hour to board. Staying here in a beautiful hotel with its own vineyards, wonderful views and flower filled gardens. Day warm but overcast with occasional drizzle. We can't get over the spring flowers both wild and in gardens. In particular in this area there are acre after acre of wild arum lilies.
