Hi Guys
We are now in Australia.
We arrived in Melbourne a few day before the tennis. It is an elegant city.
Nice pubs, but not so good for the diet - our tight budget helped us to resist.
We did lots of walking around and window shopping instead!!
We went to an open air cinema in the Royal Botanical Gardens on Sunday night, which was family night. Jane would have liked it as there were loads of Dogs, but no westies!
We lost each other in the park at the end of the night. It was a bit scary and luckily we met up again before they locked us in!
We got a train to Adelaide a couple of days later. We stayed with my aunt Jenny and my cousins Amanda and Anthony.
There we hired a car through BA and we were upgraded to a Holden V6 3.6 litre. I like it! Thank you BA!!
We were brave and went camping in the Barossa Valley. There are more bugs and dangerous spiders here than anywhere else we have camped. We checked our tent and shoes religiously!
Obviously we went wine tasting in the Barossa valley - on bikes again.
Although this tour was much harder as there were more hills and it was super hot - 32 degrees celsius!
We tasted different wines in little cellas and they were all fab. Rockfords wines were very good. On our second day we drove to the Wolfblass winery. It was massive, with a giant statue of a silver eagle in the centre of the site. Lindsey tasted the wines for me because I was driving. They were better than the ones that we get in the UK. The best ones have already been reserved for Kate and Williams' wedding!
We left there and drove for nine hours to Port Lincoln where we camped for the night. The next day we went cage diving with Great White sharks. This has been a dream of Lindsey's since she was a kid. It was an awesome experience, she loved it. I enjoyed most of it except being sea sick whilst in the cage! It was one of the best trips that we have done. We were please though that we checked Utube after we did it and not before.... there is a terrible video of people cage diving and the cage breaking when the shark hits it by accident...TERRIFYING!!
We stayed one more night in Port Lincoln before 7 hour drive back along the longest road ever with hardly any cars - cruise control is very useful out here.
We made it back in time to celebrate Australia day in Adelaide with my aunt and cousins.
We went into the City with Amanda and met up with some of Jamie's family. We saw the carnival and then listened to a music concert with our picnic and watched the fireworks. We then hit a few bars with Amanda, got her very drunk on wine and crawled home at at 3am!
The day after was a chill out day!
Today we have been to the beach in Glenelg and tomorrow we are all off to Victor Habour.
The next few days are reportedly going to be very hot... 35C tomorrow and Sunday it will be 40C! OMG!
We are off to Sydney next, travelling up the East coast for a bit of surfing before going back to Sydney to meet Dick, Lindsey's dad. We can't wait to see him.
See you soon Dick!
Lots of love Graham and Lindsey
